Artiste, Day 9: Gift giving!

So, as you saw yesterday, I made a card using the gift card insert again.  Well, we decided to wrap some of her smaller gifts in some of the Artiste 3D packaging as well!

The first bag is the same bag I showed earlier in the Breast Cancer awareness post, just using different paper.  The next is a party popper (Birthday Boy button, 3D object at 11") which I thought would be cute to hold some jewelry.  Finally that last little purse (5 button, 3D object at 3") was for my 7 year old to give her little trinkets.  I attached a velcro dot to hold the purse closed and kept it simple because of the design on the paper.  They were a hit with my girls!  The paper pack was a promotional pack from CTMH called "Dotty for You".

CTMH has GREAT promotions: check out this one!

Artiste Day 8: LOL!

Well, as per my usual, I can't seem to get it together... oh well, I try.  Somehow every one of my family has gotten sick except me.  I'm fully suspecting to get it over Thanksgiving, but I am still fighting it anyway.  Love Airborne.  A lot has happened lately...my daughter finished up her freshman volleyball season and did fantastic!  Her Sports Awards were last night and I have to toot her horn because she was one of the "Scholar athletes" with a 3.5 GPA or better!  I'm SO proud of her! She had an incredible season and improved immensely in volleyball.  They even showed her twice in the wrap up video at the awards last night!  Here are her pictures!

We also finished up Baseball with my son...another great season!  We have jump rope club going on for my youngest three and the list could go on.  It's been busy busy, but I know someday this will end and I'll be sad that I don't have it anymore.  So I am trying to enjoy every minute of it!

In there we also had another birthday!  My daughter celebrated her 12th birthday and wanted a pair of black converse shoes with pink stitching badly.  Unfortunately, we had already purchased her presents, but I wanted to make a card to reflect this, so here is her card.  Of course, I got the idea from Pinterest and just changed it up a bit to make it fit.  Why re-invent the wheel, right?
The front was made by embossing stitching lines and coloring them with alcohol markers since I did not have the right color embossing powder. (You would think with 3 girls I would have pink right?) Then I got my old Making Memories tool kit out (haven't seen that in a while) to place the eyelets for the laces and at the bottom.  I cut a 1 1/4" circle and a 1" star with my trusty Art Philosophy Cartridge and drew a line with my ruler at the bottom.  Threaded the "laces" and adhered it to the front of the card.
I used our awesome Artist cartridge for the gift card insert inside and stamped with Words of Comfort (C1524) and 4 my Friend (D1510).
I also had to show off my 7 year old's card she made for her big sister!  I thought she did a GREAT job!   I love her doodling!

Artiste: Day 7 (continued from yesterday)

Hi everyone!  Today I will show you the card from yesterdays post!  As you can see, it is a very simple card that holds a gift card!  It can be used inside another card or by itself.  Because this was a specific event and the girls were getting the boxes, I chose to keep it simple and just decorate it as is.  You can actually turn it into a purse-like card by adding a cute handle...options options!

A closer look at the card shows you how it opens to reveal the gift card holder.  The Artiste Cartridge actually has two different shape for these wonderful little surprises, this and a scallop rectangle.  This shape is found on page 55 (<card>) of the Artiste booklet and is cut at 5 1/4".  You can actually cut 2 per 12x12 piece of CS.

I also cut the silhouette frame from page 42 (<accent 2>) of Artiste at 2 1/2 and stamped the girls names (twice, 1st and 2nd generation to give it a shadow effect) in the oval cut from the same frame.  I sponged the frame and left the oval plain. (Easy was to decorate with having too much cutting!) Then I popped up the frame using pop dots.
I love the stamps from "choose hope" (My Favorite things) and used them again on the inside of the card.  I punched the slot at the top of the card (stampin' up punch) and ran the ribbon behind the frame and tied at the top.

Day 6: Artiste Let's try this again!

OK.  My computer is fixed, I did not lose any pictures (whew!) and I am hopefully back on track!  The question is, do I start at 1 or at 6 haha?  I think I'll keep going and see how far I get!

This next example was made for Breast Cancer Awareness night as gift bags for my daughters "sisters".  It does use mostly CTMH products, however, I purchased a stamp set last year specifically for Breast Cancer and I love it.

Each sister received a "bag/box" and card with gift card.  I will show that one to you tomorrow ;-)
The box was cut from baby pink CS (retired) at "fit to page" option of the "Be Mine" button
<3D object> of the Artiste cartridge.  Very little adhesive is used on this box (just along the sides).  I then cut a strip of B/T paper (retired) and edged it with a fiskars border punch.  There is a shape to coordinate with the top on the cartridge, but I couldn't stamp on it and use that shape.
After I cut out the box, I stamped it using My Favorite Things "Choose Hope" Stamp sets. I then cut out the front shape and stamped using CTMH "Always Remember" (retired, sorry).  Then finished the top with some pink ribbon.

Although this project uses a lot of retired and non-CTMH products, it shows off how easy it is to adapt and create using Artiste! (Inside the box we put 3 homemade chocolate chip cookies!)
Products used (all CTMH unless otherwise noted):
Artiste Cricut Cartridge, Paper: Baby Pink CS (retired), B/T paper (retired); Stamps: Always Remember (A1095) (retired), Choose Hope (My Favorite Things); Ink: Hollyhock (Z2128); ribbon (unknown)

Day 5: Artiste Trouble brewing!

Hi all!  I am trying to post this from my phone because my computer decided to try to crash this weekend!  I am hoping I was able to restore it, but I am not using it until I can have some smarter people than I look at it at the Apple Genius Bar!  Thank Goodness I have my photos backed up, although even that was a scare!  Anyway, I hope you are all well and that I can publish some photos of my creations from Artiste soon!  Keep checking back, I will return shortly!!!

I got a card to upload!  This is one I made for my Mom's birthday!  This card uses CTMH
kraft die cut cards and envelopes(z1474) and Stella paper pack (retired).  The Artiste cuts are the circle (accent 3, 1 key), dressform (accent 1,<shift 1> letter q button), and pennant with coordinating stamp set for Artiste ((accent 1, halloween button).
Have a great day!

Day 4 Artiste: Card Holder

Better late than never, right?  Today ended up being a little busier than I planned, but I still wanted to post my cute little project using our awesome Artiste Cartridge.  This project features a "magazine holder" that hold 5-6 cards and envelopes.  I made the card from the beautiful CTMH Avonlea Card Workshop on the Go.  The kit makes 15 cards so you can actually gift either 2 sets of 6 cards (and keep one of each for yourself) or 3 sets of 5.  I love giving set of cards, especially monogrammed, to teachers as little gifts throughout the year.  I don't know about you, but the teachers my kids have love to write little notes to their kids.  If I can give them something personal and special that I made, it makes me feel great about what I am giving.  My sister who was a teacher always told me the best thing to give teachers is something consumable.  Cards are a perfect gift in so many ways, and this card holder it the perfect way to give it!
The card holder is actually 2 pieces  the outside wraps around a half box sort of shape.  I then wrapped some of the left over paper from the Avonlea card WOTG around the base for some added decor.  The doily shape was also cut from the scaps of paper at 3.25".  I fed the ribbon through the center hole and made 3 flowers from the Artiste cartridge, Avonlea Off-white @ 2.75" (a paper pack specific color only available in the paper pack), and 2 Smokey plum flowers at 1.75".  The flowers are so easy to make after they are cut, just grab the small end with some tweezers and start wrapping the flower around until you get to the end.

One of the 3 different type cards you can make from the kit.  I'm sorry the pictures are a little grainy, taking them at night is probably not the best idea. Hopefully I can get tomorrows posted earlier!

Have a great night!

Day 3 Artiste: Vintage Birthday

As I said yesterday, it was my Dad's birthday.  So I decided to make a special card for him using the "S" key on the Artiste Cartridge.  This is a fun key because it features 9 different "swing" cards, an envelope and a box to contain cards (like monogrammed cards you give as a gift! You will see another version in the next few days!)  When you open the card, the panel swings to complete the front of the card.
To make a standard A2 card (4.25"x5.5") you will cut this at 5.5".  Again the beautiful feature of our cartridges is that they coordinate with each other!  The shape the car is stamped on comes from our Art Philosophy cartridge (bottom row, 6th key (with stocking on it) cut at 2.75" and 2.5" and fits perfectly into that swing part.  The stars (2nd row, last key <shift> at 1", 1.5" 1.75") were also cut from the AP cartridge!

The materials used (all CTMH products unless otherwise stated):
Paper:  Crusin' paper pack (retired), grey flannel cs (retired); Ink: Cranberry, twilight, black; Stamps: WOTG Cruisin' stamp set (retired), Card Chatter-Birthday
Accessories: Sparkles: Black and Grey assortment, Sparkles: Red, Pink and Purple assortment;
 Cricut: Artiste, Art Philosophy

I submitted this for the Heart 2 Heart Challenge this week: stamp rolling (the signs)!

Have a great day!

Day 2 of Artiste: Pumpkins!

This next project I can not completely take credit for.  I saw another consultant make something similar and I absolutely LOVED it, so I made two of my own!  My oldest daughter, Bethany, plays volleyball at her high school.  They assign "sisters" for the members of each division of the volleyball team, so every girl has 2 sisters freshman, JV and varsity.  For home games, they give each other a little treat and a note of encouragement.  It has been a wonderful way to united the different ages and levels of the teams and the girls have really gotten close as a result.
Well, I love our cricut cartridges because it makes gift giving so easy and cute!  Today's pumpkins are what my daughter is giving to her sisters for the game tonight!  Go Cavs!

The pumpkins were cut from page 32 the number 2 button and the 3D Object button.  I cut these at 4.5" (per the instructions in the booklet).  The beautiful thing about the Artiste Cartridge and booklet is that there is a companion booklet that give illustrated instructions on how to put together the 3D objects!  How great is that!
The leaf was also cut from the cartridge page 78 Thanksgiving key, <shift> 3D object at 4.75".  I used  the swirls cuttlebug embossing folder (not CTMH) to enhance the bags and leaves and inked over top of them.  Then I finished them off with our burlap ribbon and hemp. So easy!

The side of the bag shows how it contains items and the best part, no adhesives involved!

The back.

Materials used (all CTMH unless otherwise specified):
CS: autumn terra-cotta, sweet leaf; Inks Goldrush, Olive; Burlap ribbon, Hemp; Other: Artiste cartridge,  swirls EF (Provo craft), candy!

I also just want to mention that today is my Dad's 75th birthday! WOW, what a life he's led!  I wish I was able to celebrate with him, but instead I will feature his card tomorrow!  Happy Birthday Dad!  We love you SO SO  much!

Have a great day!

My 31 Days of Artiste Begins!

Hi everyone!  I am so excited to show you all the amazing things our Close to my Heart Cricut Artiste Cartridge has to offer.  This first project is a little more involved that I will usually be showing just because it is a home decor item.  It features our Moonlight Paper collection with lots of fun little extras!  To get you in the mood this month, I've made a banner with the "My Creations banner".  With 8 chipboard pieces and rings to attach them together, this was so easy to decorate.  That hardest part was deciding which word to use on it.
Now, those of you familiar with our paper packs will know that there is this fun little strip of paper at the top that tells the name of the My Reflections collection and the colors used.  On the other side is a printed design that you can use in your paper crafting.  That is where the words strip if from on the first piece.  I used the Artiste Cartridge (Accent 2 of the Halloween/Boo button.  Cut 2 @1.5") to cut out the round accent.  The cricut cuts little score marks so you know exactly where to accordian fold it! Glue together and sponge with black along the outer edge.  I also use the Moonlight Complements Dimensional Elements as an accent.  To enhance that just a little, I used the Stardust Glitz Gel and Bronze Glitz Gel.  The "S" banner features a tombstone from the cartridge (Eek/Spooky button, accent 1 @2.5").  I also stamped the mummy from the Workshop on the Go stamp set.  Buying the WOTG gives you the paper, some embellishments and a cute stamp set that all coordinate to make it easier to put together pages and projects.  It also includes a brochure to tell you exactly how to make the featured pages from the kit! Finally I stamped the "happy hauntings" with Versamark and heat embossed it with Black.

The next 2 letters include the "Boo" from the Cartridge @ 2.25"(I just cut the bottom part of the B off to make it a P).  The P is stamped with a retired stamp set (because I love the bats) and the bat was cute from Artiste (Eek/Spooky button Card @1.5"). I needed something to make the P stand out so I also cut that shape from the Halloween/Boo button, Accent 2 (shift) at 2.75").  The "O" I cut from grey and gold rush with the same accent behind.  The Cat is from the Eek/Spooky button at 2.5").  Cute little zip strip at the top, and black embossing powder at the bottom (retired stamp set, sorry) finish it off.
The next "O" is still from Boo, with the tombstone and front from the same accent button as above.  I added a zip strip through the middle with some paper behind.  The skeleton is from Creepy Creatures.  I accented him with some ink and my water brush.  "Who's afraid" is from the WOTG stamp set again and heat embossed.

The "K" is from Eek, the web from Eek/Spooky button on Artiste (accent 4 @ 3").  The spider is embossed from the WOTG stamp set and you can't tell from the picture, but there is glitter glitz get on the web.  I stapled the top strip with some Black Tulle behind.

Finally, the last 2.  The Y uses stamps from the WOTG (fence with owl and "bugs and hisses".  Embossing powder and the owl is stamped again on another sheet of paper with gypsy ink and colored with watercolor pencils.  Again I used the zip strip and stamped the web underneath.  The final banner piece is similar to the first just using a different Dimensional element.

Whew!  That's it for today, lots of work on that one, but lots of fun shapes and accents from the Artiste Cartridge!  I hope you enjoyed todays take...

Hello, I'm back!

Every fall with back to school time I always realize that life has gotten away from my and the first thing to fall to the wayside is my poor blog!  Well, once again, I am determined to get back on the horse!  Hopefully this time I won't fall off!  It will be interesting with a move (again) in 8 months and all that comes with become a "commander's wife", but I look forward to the adventure.

My kids have grown exponentially and with one in high school, life is seldom restful!  Since they are all involved in activities and sports, it is a balancing act, especially as soon as school lets out!  This has been an exceptionally challenging week with my son getting a concussion on the playground, my husband away at a school and my daughters in girl scouts, volleyball, gymnastics plus!  I have cut back my volunteer time this year hoping I can get some work done in my scrapbooks before we move everything again!  We shall see how that goes.  (I have a hard time saying "NO"...there, I admitted it! lol)  Anyway, so I figured if I am going to be doing all these great projects, (which I do but never seem to get them posted), I better show them!  While I generally try to stick to mostly, if not all CTMH products, occasionally I veer away and try other products...spice of life, right?
